Happy 4th of July! Just a quick report to say have a great weekend and to bring you up to date with the fishing. I had an awesome day with Dierdre Lord and Alex Wright on Tuesday, my best ever sightfihsing trip. Dierdre and Alex landed 13 Stripers and two were in the 34"plus range. It was an unbelievable trip for all of us. Thanks and Congrats to Alex and Dierdre, it will be a day not soon forgotten. Jeff fished Bruce and Scotty Turner and they also had a great trip going 7 for 9 Stripers, one topping the 37" mark. Nate Amendola was on the beach with client, John Ferguson, and they had a great trip to landing 4 Stripers. I guess Tuesday the fish were hungry. Its great to have such numbers of Bass around. Lets hope it lasts. This weekend the weather looks grand so get out and wet a line.

Fishing Report Good Evening, just a quick report. The Bass are still around and in good numbers even after the blow last week. Sometimes hard to keep hooked but we are still seeing good numbers of fish. Capt Jeff andf his customer, Andrew Schonbeck, landed a nice large Striper on fly Saturday night just before the thunder and lightening show. Andrew's first big fish on fly. Congrats to Andrew! David Policanski reports good numbers of decent sized Blues at 40th Pole yesterday within Fly reach. I am also hearing of Stripers along the South Shore in the evening. Have a great 4th and I will be reporting when I can!

Good Afternoon! I am sorry I haven’t posted sooner but I have been on the water. This past week was pretty good. Last Saturday was unbelievable down off the East End. Friends Diana Rudolph and Jerry Siem were with Jeff and I and I have to say it was some of the best fishing I have experienced in a long time. Stripers and Blues, mostly Stripers, on the surface. You could actually sight cast to them. It was very cool. I also fished on the flats this past week and Diana landed three nice fish the biggest was 34”s. James Kilmartin fished West and landed 2 big Stripers a couple days ago. The beach bite has also been good. The East side of the Island is still producing as well as some of the points inside Coatue at night and the South Shore. Unfortunately we are experiencing a real Northeaster for the next couple days. No fishing for this kid until hopefully Wednesday.
I am hoping this will not screw up the good fishing we have been experiencing but we shall see.

The Stripers are biting and there are a lot of them!!!!! If you haven’t been out fishing yet now is the time. I am getting glowing reports of fish all over the place. The best being the Eastern Shore of the Island. Seems they are all pretty big too..
Its great that the big fish are around, but where are the little guys? There is a growing concern about the smaller Schoolie Striper. Where are they?
Its great that there are a lot of fish being caught but please remember to be conservative with your fish. If you want one for dinner that’s okay but please think of tomorrow and the future. If you are going to release your fish please be careful with them. If they are handled roughly they may not survive. Try not to keep them out of the water to long. Maybe crimp the barbs down on treble hooks so they are easier to get out of the mouths of your catch. On flies you can also crimp your barbs down even a little and that will make it easier. Circle hooks are a great option too especially if you are using bait. Please think of tomorrow when you are out there today.
