Most everyone who enjoys the outdoors wants to, or has tried to, fly cast. Those who have tried unsuccessfully probably read a book, watched a video, or just picked up a rod thinking they could do it. All of the above can, and will work, but for most it will lead to many hours of frustration and unnecessary effort. With proper instruction, one can learn in a surprisingly short period of time. Whether beginner or advanced, let Cross Rip Outfitters teach you the art of fly fishing.

Don't have your own equipment? Don't worry! All equipment is included with the lessons. You need only bring a hat, sun glasses, sun screen and the appropraite clothing.

Our two hour Fly Casting Lesson will get you started without overwhelming you. We cover the basics of equipment casting, knots and fishing. Groups are small, limited to a maximum of four people, to keep the focus on you. Want even more one-on-one attention? Try our semi-private or private classes.

Already know the basics? Need to learn the double haul or brush up on distance? Try our Advanced one and a half (1 1/2) hour class.

Looking to purchase some new equipment? Maybe you just need a few minutes of extra instruction. This is the place for you. Once a month June through September a Factory Rep will be on island to help out. Get that question answered about a rod, reel, or line; see how that new fly line casts on your rod; maybe you just want to make that cast go an extra fifteen feet. Stop by and let us help.

Periodically we bring in a guest instructor to hold a one or two day fly fishing school. Past instructors have included Chico Fernandez, Dusty & Lisa Wissmath, Nick Curcione, Trey Combs, and Mark Sedotti.
